Latin (And Spanish) American Studies 25 Year Reunion
In the Summer of 1992 I bid a sad farewell to my colleagues. With the nature of our course we were well aware that our future path would be taking us far afield......
I ended up moving to Mexico as did a couple of my colleagues. Some went to Ethiopia, some went to the Gambia, some across the water to Spain and some to the US. This is but a few of the destinations we ended up in. Thanks to Facebook over the last 10 years we have gradually been tracking each other down. This year it was 25 years on since we graduated so I thought it would be a great idea to try to get us together – not an easy task. After a year in the planning 10 of us made it to Portsmouth with families and all.
The sun came out for us and it was lovely to soak up some of the old haunts including our second home ‘the Old Vic’, now a restaurant where we had the main dinner. Most of us stayed at the caravan park which became the central point – we had such a great time we have decided to make it a regular occurrence. Next year we are looking at Barcelona.
We had an amazing time talking about the old days….
