Staff and students join the University Chancellor in running challenge
Staff and students at the University joined the University Chancellor Sandi Toksvig in the 5K park run at 9am on Saturday 26 September.
With glorious sunshine beaming down on Southsea seafront, Sandi was joined by around 450 participants as they ran, jogged and walked the 5 kilometre route from Speaker’s Corner and back.
Sandi is trying to encourage as many people as possible to get active, just as she has: “I wanted to initiate a Chancellor’s run because I’m passionate that our staff and students should engage with their bodies as well as their minds. If our bodies aren’t fit, our minds are not going to work properly.”
Park runs take place all over the country for runners of all abilities and ages and is an opportunity for the local community – male or female, young or old – to come together on a regular basis and get physically active, for free.
