About the book
Being a writer and practitioner specialising in autism is one thing, but I hope that by actually being one to bring a new dimension to its understanding and implications, which is another principle reason for writing this book - only someone who lives it truly knows what it’s like. This isn't academic theory or clinical observation - this is how it is and how it lives, good and bad.
Because of the family experience, autism was always a part of everyday, normal life for me. This understanding lends a uniquely powerful and sharply different perspective to both assessing and then providing a high quality of educational and life experience for affected people, whether children or adults - as each has their own particular viewpoint and set of needs.
